A woman that choose to be subservient to her husband or to be a homemaker exercises her equal rights just as much as a woman who decided to practice law, to be a CEO, to serve the military and so on. Moreover, a lawyer/CEO/servicemember who also chose to be subservient to her husband is not undermining the progress of women's rights. I believe that you could be a proponent of women's rights even if wives submit to their husbands: "Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the savior of the body. Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing."
