Family Restoration Begins With Limited Government.... (and Sports Center!)

Virginia Governor, Bob McDonnell (Regent Law '89) offered leadership solutions that can help to restore families by "limiting government at every level."  Lowering tax burdens, loosening federal regulations, and creating more jobs can go a long way to free families from undesirable burdens.

The collegial, historic and family atmosphere created by McDonnell's speech was most welcomed.  Having the speech in the Gallery where the Virginia House of Delegates meet, the new Governor surrounded himself with fellow Virginians from all corners of the Commonwealth. Many in the room were naturalized citizens who originally came from other countries to find freedom and opportunity here, and to bring hope to their families.

Governor McDonnell quoted The Scriptures, which is always inspiring: "The Scriptures say, 'To whom much is given, much will be required...'It was a wonderful reminder that the ultimate Restorer of Families is not the federal government, and no government program can ever replace people caring for one another, especially in a family.

You may watch the entire response here:

(The McDonnell boys reminded their dad to be done in time for Sports Center - not an uncommon event in family households who love sports!  Gathering the family around Sports Center to get the days sporting news doesn't hurt family restoration one bit either! Especially when some of that news focuses on U. of Florida's graduating quarterback Tim Tebow and his family's experiences.  For an update on how Tim and his mother Pam will appear in a Focus on the Family sponsored Super Bowl Ad affirming life, go to http://www2.focusonthefamily.com/press/pressreleases/a000001434.cfm .)
