Virginia to redefine 'husband and wife' and "mother and father"?

The Virginia General Assembly is considering a potential law with massive implications that will require amending every mention of the words 'husband and wife' in Virginia law to be redefined as 'spouse,' and any mention of 'mother and father' will be redefined as 'parent,' effectively removing any gender reference to marriage or parenting. You can access the Washington Post article detailing these events at http://www.washingtonpost.com/local/virginia-politics/same-sex-marriage-is-legal-in-virginia-but-maneuvering-rages-on-in-richmond/2015/01/12/61a3057c-9530-11e4-927a-4fa2638cd1b0_story.html.

Efforts to redefine marriage may lead to a demise of dual gender marriage notions.  To learn more on this effort in Virginia see http://papers.ssrn.com/sol3/papers.cfm?abstract_id=2427462.  Efforts to redefine parenting will work to deny a child of one of his or her parents.  To learn more see "Rethinking Mom and Dad" at http://papers.ssrn.com/sol3/papers.cfm?abstract_id=2462112. Redefining terms will work not to restore families, but to further dilute them and their objectives for a stable society.
