Restoring Family, a Church, and Civilization this Easter

This holy week began with the burning of an iconic Christian cathedral in the heart of Paris, France - Notre Dame.  As the world grieves over the loss of this sacred space, one might observe the parallel lament of the loss of family and civilization in the obscurities of the ashes.  Does the demise of Christianity echo in these sacred institutions? Or is it the hope that remains?

Christian writer Ann Voskamp, who proffers the Grace Crafted Home, discusses these facts in her recent post on Easter, referring to Easter as the great story of Christianity, concluding that the Truth of this Story now matters more than ever. She writes, "The blaze-shocked world may have heard Macron say Notre Dame is 'the epicentre of our lives,' and France may see the Dame's steeples are a symbol of who they are, standing as the crux of their identity, but there is an epicentre of Word that is central to Believers, there is an unchanging identity found in holy writ, in 'the true story of who you are and what you were made for.'"

This is the story of the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.  The life and burning of a church, or of our families, or of our lives is restored in Jesus Christ.

This weekend open your heart to Him and His restoring love.  It will make all the difference in your family, and put into perspective the loss of sacred spaces which can indeed be restored.
