There may be no greater privilege in life than having a godly
mother, one who fears the Lord and
stands in the gap in prayer for her children.
How many of us can trace our first witness of truth and salvation to our
own precious mother? How may of us
experienced true understanding and the unconditional love of Jesus through a
motherly example? God Himself used the analogy of a mother’s love to express
His love for His people when He says, “As a mother comforts her child, so will
I comfort you.” Isaiah 66:13
There are many blessings,
responsibilities, and examples
of motherhood in the Bible. A woman
who abides in Christ and walks in His ways may cherish and claim this rich
inheritance that God has provided.
Mothers are the models of discipleship for their children. Mary, the Model of Discipleship, offered Jesus that example of devotion.
