Family Restoration is accomplished when mothers can seek and obtain help for their families during pregnancy in privacy and confidence.
Assembly Bill A8212 in the State of New York, however, authorizes the Commissioner of Health to conduct a study and issue a report examining the unmet health and resource needs facing pregnant women in New York and the impact of limited service pregnancy centers.
This legislation would create a generally pro-choice task force to help
the State Health Department to examine the work of pro-life pregnancy centers. It
would enable the Health Commissioner to subpoena pro-life centers and force
them to produce an overwhelming volume of data and reports. The pre-determined
outcome of the study seems to be to find these pro-life centers “limited”
because they do not provide abortion. This bill advanced from the Assembly
Health Committee and has passed the NY Assembly, but awaits a final vote in the
NY Senate. To learn more about the
status of this bill and what you can do to express your concern for it go to NY Senate.
Family restoration requires pregnancy resource centers to be able to operate without fear from governmental intimidation or intrusion, to protect the lives of women and children.
